Rita Mondal (Name Changed), 50, when she came to Rista in 2010, refused to recognize her family and was completely devastated to see her in this condition. Our specialist psychiatrist suggested her for residential care at Rista Foundation. In the early days of treatment, she was not even allowing the doctors to check her as she was not in her regular self. She did not talk to anyone and stayed within herself.
Our counselor was the first to pierce through her condition, and soon doctors started to assess her condition. She started responding to the medication and psychotherapy quite soon. She started socializing soon enough and joined sessions in the common room. Later she was also part of the Yoga sessions and the spiritual program. She started meeting her family members regularly, and they were really happy to see her normally after so long. She returned home soon after.
